The journey up to base camp is full of learning and movement.
We stopped off in the meadow.
On the edges was lots of stickyweed (aka cleavers, goosegrass, stickybacks etc). We started by looking closely and noticing interesting things about the stickyweed plant. We noticed that there were four edges on the stems, the leaf was stickier on the underside of the leaf than on the top and that it had tiny white flowers and even some tiny green seeds growing in pairs.

We made stickyweed crowns and added some summer flowers. One became a belt and another became a frisbee!

The grass was long with clumps of buttercups and grass providing just the perfect place to play a game of hide and seek. The children got really good at hiding!

Up at base camp, we made leaf prints with clay.
