Noticing
In Forest School, we take time to really notice the beauty of nature.

Playing
Playing hide and seek in Forest School isn’t just fun — it also helps the children develop important skills like spatial awareness, proprioception, camouflage problem-solving, patience, and cooperation, all while building togetherness and a sense of adventure.

Gorse
In Forest School, we learned all about gorse plants — from tiny seeds to big, spiky bushes! The children loved finding the seeds inside the pods and discovering how the seeds spread and grow into new plants. Through hands-on exploration and story, they learned how seeds are dispersed and what conditions are needed for them to grow.

Fairy houses – Deborah’s group
The children used sticks, leaves, cones, flowers and stones to carefully build tiny homes for woodland fairies. This allows them to use their imaginations and encourages creativity, teamwork, and a deep connection with nature.

Heavy wood music
Some children enjoyed making music using natural materials like sticks, stones, and leaves. They discovered different sounds and rhythms, turning the woods into their own outdoor orchestra.

Thank you to our first group of 6th class assistants
We were all very grateful to our 6th class assistants for their incredible help with Forest School over the past four weeks. We had a circle of gratitude for them and the children said they were kind, fun, and always ready to lend a helping hand.
They showed wonderful leadership skills and were consistently thoughtful, caring, and responsible. Their positive attitude and enthusiasm made every session more enjoyable and meaningful for our younger students.
Well done to our fantastic 6th class helpers — we’re very proud of you!
