5-a-side football

Another exciting week for DSP senior boys soccer team! The week started with a win for the 11-aside senior boys soccer team in their national league game against St Mary’s Sandyford on Monday to make it through to the semi-finals of the league. Well done to the team, we wish them the very best in the semi-final in the coming weeks.

The smaller 5 aside senior boys soccer made history by getting into the FAI 5 aside Dublin Finals on Tuesday. It was the first time our senior boys team qualified to the Dublin finals ahead of 28 other schools in the South County Dublin area. The boys played 3 three teams from across Dublin – Cabra, Knocklyon and Coolock at the blitz finals in Fairview on Tuesday. After a couple of close games, Gaelscoil Chomcille came out on top of the group to progress towards getting into the Leinster finals.

The boys had fun competing against their talented peers from other schools, and wishing familiar faces and friends the best in their games!

Thanks to Maura for the fabulous football report and to Catherine for the images! Look out for a goal and a save!
