We are pleased to offer a range of External Co-Curricular Activities (ECAs) for our children at DSP.

These activities are designed to be fun, nurturing, and age-appropriate, helping children build confidence, social skills, and enjoyment in learning beyond the school day.

All ECAs are:

  • Coordinated by volunteer parents in the DSP Parent–Teacher Association (PTA)
  • Delivered by external providers ** all queries to be directed to the providers, not the school office.
  • Held after school

ECA Programme

Below is the current list of ECAs for children in DSP.
Registration and payment are managed directly with the provider.

ECA Timetable

ECAs generally do not run on the first or the last week of school

How ECAs Work

We know that for our children, routine, reassurance, and relationships matter most. Here’s what families can expect:

  • ECAs are led by experienced adults who work with young children
  • Providers are responsible for:
    • Supervision during the activity
    • Supporting positive behaviour
    • Creating a calm and caring environment

ECA’s will  begin at the advertised start time and end at the finish time.
We kindly ask parents to collect children promptly to help maintain a calm end-of-day experience.

Behaviour, Feelings & Friendships 💛

At DSP, we want every child to feel:

  • Safe
  • Included
  • Listened to
  • Supported

All ECA providers working with our children have a code of conduct and will support children in learning how to share, take turns, and step in if a child is upset or a disagreement arises

Aligned to the schools Bi Cinealta values, bullying is not tolerated, and any concerns are handled with care and sensitivity.

If Your Child Is Upset or You Have a Concern

If you have a question or concern:

  1. Please speak with the ECA provider directly — they know your child best in that setting
  2. If you have exhausted this avenue, and are in need further support, contact the PTA ECA Coordinator on ECA@DSPNS.IE
  3. Any serious wellbeing or safeguarding concerns will be shared with DSP management

When getting in touch, it helps to include:

  • Your child’s name and class
  • The name of the ECA
  • A brief description of what you’ve noticed and engagement you have had with the ECA.

We aim to work together with families in a calm and supportive way.
