In Senior Infants we have been busy bees learning all about plants, growing and minibeasts over the past few weeks.
We learned about the different parts of a plant and created and labelled our own mixed media flowers.

We then explored what plants need to grow by conducting a cress experiment. We planted lots of different cress seeds and grew them under various conditions:
– Water and sunlight
– Water but no sunlight
– Sunlight but no water
– No water and no sunlight
Can you guess which grew the best?

Next it was time for a minibeast hunt! Did you know that minibeast is a creature without a backbone? We found out all about them and then went searching in our school grounds and founds lots of little critters!

We made a pictogram of our favourite minibeasts. It may come as no surprise that the colourful butterfly was a class favourite! And so, alongside our 6th class buddies, we drew and painted our own butterflies.

We have been practising writing sentences and we wrote our very own minibeast riddles. We listened to everyone’s clues and tried to guess the creature! Can you read our riddles below and figure out the minibeast?
