2nd Class had a wonderful day celebrating Pancake Tuesday and World Book Day today!
We started the day by enjoying some delicious pancakes. The children were very excited to choose their favourite toppings including marshmallows, chocolate spread, sprinkles, and the classic lemon and sugar. There were lots of happy faces, covered in chocolate spread!
Afterwards, the children proudly shared their fantastic World Book Day costumes with the class. We saw some amazing characters, from Harry Potter to Willy Wonka to Rapunzel, and many more. The children loved showing their costumes and talking about their favourite books.
We were also very lucky to listen to some beautiful poetry by author Lucinda Jacobs, who even helped us to write some of our own poetry too! The children listened carefully and really enjoyed hearing her work. We would like to say a big thank you to our PTA for organising this wonderful visit.
To finish the day, 2nd Class created some Pancake Tuesday art. They designed their own pancakes that could even pop off their pans, just like making real pancakes! There were lots of creative designs and colourful toppings and the children were very proud of their work.
