Paintbrushes, Potions & Passports – A Week in 2nd Class!

We have been learning all about length in 2nd class. We had great fun jumping as far as we could and using a metre stick to measure how far we jumped. Then we used cubes to measure different parts of our bodies and compared them to see which were longer or shorter. Some of us were surprised by the results!

For capacity, we became potion makers. We used measuring jugs to carefully pour ingredients like unicorn blood, liquid luck and dragon tears. Everyone created their own magical potion and made sure to measure out the ingredients exactly. There was lots of excitement and a bit of mess too.

In art, we have been working on the backgrounds for our school play Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf by Roald Dahl. We painted trees, flowers and woodland scenes to help bring the story to life. The classroom was full of colour and creativity.

We also began our preparations for Passport Day. Our classroom will be turning into Poland and we are getting everything ready to welcome our visitors. We have started learning about Polish traditions, food and famous landmarks. We cannot wait to share it all!
