On Saturday, our school was filled with festive sparkle as children, families, and staff came together to share the wonderful experience that is for our Festive Fair. It was a fabulous celebration of creativity, community, and giving!
A huge thank you to our Festive Fair Committee who worked very hard to make sure the fair was a success; Noah, Nell & Elina from 6th Class, Ben and Lily from 5th Class (also our chairpersons), Isla and Mark from 4th Class & Theo and Olivia from 3rd Class. Well done to you all!!
A very special thank you to their Helper Elves, Caroline and Sarah who, for the second year in a row, have given their time, energy and expertise at a very busy time of year to give our children an opportunity to showcase their wonderful talents and entrepreneurial skills.
To start the Festive Fair off, the DSP Choir created an atmosphere that was warm, lively, and full of Christmas cheer as they led the community in singing some popular seasonal numbers. Thank you to our wonderful student voices!
The doors were then open to our young innovators who transformed our school into a bustling Christmas marketplace, proudly presenting their handmade products, clever creations, and imaginative business ideas.
Parents and visitors wandered through the hall and rooms, chatting with our confident young stallholders who stood proudly displaying their creations! Brothers and sisters joined in and helped too!
Delicious cookies and cakes, festive drinks, paintings, warm waffles, glittering decorations, homemade sweets, crocheted soft toys, books, jewellery, seasonal wreaths to name but a few – every stall reflected the children’s hard work, teamwork, and blossoming entrepreneurial skills.
Most importantly, the Fair wasn’t just fun—it was meaningful. Thanks to the enthusiasm and generosity of our school community, the children raised an impressive amount (still being counted) for Down Syndrome Ireland.
