We are so proud of all of the 157 delegates who took to Dáil Éireann on Friday last.
They were immensely committed, articulate and passionate about their cause and constructive in their Recommendations. We really hope that your students and teachers were able to share in the occasion and feel that they too were part of something special.
The 10 Recommendations produced by the Youth Assembly have been formally handed to the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment. An Ceann Comhairle has committed to circulating the Recommendations to all 157 TDs and to the members of the Seanad. An Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar has said publicly that he will meet with a delegation from the Youth Assembly to discuss the Recommendations.
As we pull all of those threads together to ensure that the Youth Assembly’s work is taken on board and progressed, we have one final favour to ask of you:
There is an opportunity to register support for the Youth Assembly’s Recommendations online at rte.ie/youthassembly.
The link is https://www.rte.ie/news/youth-assembly/2019/1113/1090623-show-support-for-the-youth-assembly-recommendations/
Already, thousands have registered their support but we are pushing to get as big a number on board as possible. The bigger the support, the stronger the voice.
Can I ask you to put it to staff and students to consider registering their support online today please.
With thanks for your support and involvement throughout this journey,
Executive Producer, RTÉ on Climate – Youth Assembly
