We have enjoyed some very fine sunrises and crisp, blue-sky break times at school this week. Good weather gives us all a lift and helps create many learning opportunities outdoors. PE lessons, daily walks, mask breaks have taken place. Our feature picture shows 3rd class doing a Gaeilge/Drámaíocht lesson – integrated learning, making learning fun – improving Irish language skills through drama.

Station teaching is a regular approach for numeracy and literacy in 1st and 2nd classes. Groups of children work with different teachers on various elements of a topic. In the picture, see 2nd class using manipulatives (in this case, counting blocks) to assist with calculations.
