One of the opportunities for positive change that Covid raised was to make more use of the back garden space. Every day, children walk in and out to yard several times a day through the back garden. Sometimes they stop to look at the pond, to notice changes in the trees, to spot birds, squirrels, maybe even a fox. Pre-Covid this space was rarely accessed. It is wonderful to use and enjoy this natural environment. The Student Council meet there every week; some classes use it as a base for story reading.
This week some 6th class students helped Gary to move the bug hotel. Can you see it carefully tucked away behind the berry bushes?
Why did it need to be moved?
We are replacing the broken, leaky garden and PTA sheds with a new outdoor learning space and relocating storage space to the back garden.
Thanks to Gary and his helpers!
