Our feature photo shows the latest outdoor learning area within our school grounds. Thanks to Gary for moving the compost bins and for collecting logs from one of our families. Doesn’t it look great? The back garden is a wonderful spot for listening to birds, for frog life and insect observation, noticing buds growing on trees and so much more.

We are enjoying a very successful return to in-school teaching and learning. Children are happy to be back with friends. Learning tasks that feel boring at home are enhanced by the camaraderie and shared experiences in class. Interestingly, the extended time at home is showing some gaps and we need to focus on turn taking, accepting differences of opinions, listening to and accepting others ideas and sustaining attention on particular tasks. Many children are presenting as tired and distracted this week – adjusting to school routines is a significant change in rhythm. It’s good we have outdoor spaces to use and the Easter/Spring break to enjoy.

Our usual 12:00 midday school holidays closure is staggered as follows in line with our Covid Plans:

6th, 4th, 2nd and Senior Infants: home time is 12:00 midday.

5th, 3rd, 1st, Junior Infants: home time is 12:10pm.

We wish everyone a restful and safe break.
