We have revised the timetable since posting last week. We heard some children talking about how Sports Day is “so stressful”. We are listening to those voices and have added in a quiet/mindful session in class to the timetable. We are re-naming the day, Be a Good Sport day.

We appreciate that some children and adults love the competitive aspects of Be a Good Sport day. We wish to celebrate that with the understanding that participation in good spirit is the main aim for the day. We ask that everyone accept the decisions of the finish line people. We have lots of phrases to encourage participants whatever the outcome: “Well done. Nice try. Have another go! I liked the way you did that. Great effort. Hard luck. Better luck next time! You did it. You made it to the finish line. Hurray!”

We look forward to seeing lots of you on Thursday.
