What a fabulous week we have had at DSP. Everyone is going home tired after much learning and lots of fun. A break from routines will be appreciated by all. Thanks to teachers and SNAs for consistently putting the children’s needs first and making DSP a happy school.

4th, 5th and 6th classes started the week with a Tag Rugby blitz on Monday 11th February 2019 in Seapoint Rugby Club. Mixed teams were set up and everyone participated in good spirit. In fact, it was noted how respectful and enthusiastic students from DSP were at the event. Thanks for representing our school so well. Thanks to teachers and SNAs for walking there and back, and for helping run the matches.

Exploratory work continues in classes as children research the history of the school and life in the last four decades. We look forward to hearing some fabulous re-writes of 70s songs at the Founders’ Day in Wednesday 27th February 2019.

In case people missed the message, Founders’ Day is a children’s event, with invites only to founders, the Ombudsman for Children and some local representatives – plus PTA or BoM representatives. Unfortunately, do not have space for all parents/guardians at this particular event.

Learning through novel study group

Thanks to the PTA for a lovely Valentine’s Breakfast. We are very fortunate to have such a committed group of parents.

Happy midterm to all! If you have time, you might be interested in the event below:

Good afternoon,
I’m Joe the producer of Tír na nÓg a new Irish musical at Smock alley on Saturday and Sunday 23rd & 24th of February, 2pm Smock Alley Theatre.
This bilingual, musical retelling of the myth of Tír na nÓg from Niamh’s point of view will challenge young audiences to consider that there are two sides to every story. With catchy songs and amazing choreography throughout this show is truly exciting new experience for all ages. We would love for your students to know about this amazing production and are asking school to share with parents in their latest newsletter or bulletin. If you have a group of students you would like to book for you can do so at this link too: https://bit.ly/2WqyOge
Kind regards,
Joe Murphy,Producer
