Anyone who knows the Dalkey School Project knows that the school prides itself on developing and nurturing a sense of community. At the heart of that community is food: the many restaurants, shops and cafes that serve the area so well and all the baking, cooking and entertaining that goes on in our homes. Within the school we have regular cake sales and cookery with the children. DSP loves to cook. It was with this in mind that the Dalkey School Project decided to gather together this collection of our favourite recipes in order to raise money for our school.
The committee would like to thank everyone who contributed their much loved recipes and those that also gave their time. Thanks also to the many local businesses that supported our efforts. We would like to thank Russell Healy for his fantastic photography and design skills. We hope we have selected mouth-watering dishes that will inspire you to try something new and which you will return to time and time again. Nothing within the book requires any great degree of skill, nor are there any ingredients that can’t be found locally. We aim to give you simple, delicious food for friends and family.
